- Looking at some Social Realism Promotion posters, has got me thinking, and it seems to be that they all maintain a similar theme to them compared to other film posters.
- One outstanding theme seems to be the main character in the frame, taking up nearly all of or at least half of the size of the poster.
- Secondly the image isn't over done in anyway, meaning the image isn't overly manipulated using editing software such as Photo shop.
- Also the text used needs to relate to the film or be kept really simple, as not too over complicate the poster.
- Awards or festivals need to be mentioned somewhere on the poster, such as Fish Tank has the UK film council, and funded by the nation lottery.
- Also a tag line to invite the audience in needs to be somewhere eye catching for the audience.
- Who's in it needs to be written clearly so audience's can see it.
- And also the location needs to be somewhere real, this not only helps with social realism it also creates realism as by using an actual place, audiences can relate to it, as well as the character.
