Little White Lies Review task

My main role within the ancillary tasks was to write the copy for the review.
Here is the final copy version, which is annotated to show how I conformed to Little White Lie’s sophisticated style.
The type of lexical choices I used to hint at our underlining genres and reflect our social realist style:
Semantic field of lexical choices, which hint at romance:
- believable hormonal teenage romance
- ex-boyfriend
- teenage girl
- affectionate slow paced drama
- emotive dialogue, expressing his regret and misfortune
Semantic field of lexical choices, which hint at fantasy:
- captures
- doesn’t leave much to the imagination
- his haunting presence
- As the film unfolds
- hard task when you’re a ghost!
- Rich’s death remain a complete mystery
- green screen
Semantic field of lexical choices, which hint at the style of social realism:
- Original
- concentrates on the depressing side of life
- the celebration of being young
- filled with ambition, creativity and authenticity
- an impressive array of ideas
- narrative ingenuity.
latent grief, anguish and betrayal
poignant moments of anger, frustration and sadness - emotional trauma and decides to move on from their failed relationship
- long takes dwell on Amie’s fragility and solitary nature
sullen facial expressions reflect the disappointment of her sudden ‘singledom’ status
triumphs of female empowerment - break the stereotypical conceptions of femininity.
- black and white cinematography
- of certain glumness
- dramatic climax
- The five minute drama seems to glamorise depression as certain sequences involving the young couple are plagued with unnecessary moodiness.
Conclusion, which sums up our film:
White believes ‘All my love’ introduces a ‘wonderful breath of fresh air’ into social realism as it intertwines romance, realism and fantasy into a spellbinding short film.
